How to measure and supplement DHEA to treat adrenal fatigue

What does DHEA have to do with adrenal fatigue, and how do you use it as a supplement?

DHEA is a steroid hormone and a precursor to most of the other hormones, like estrogen and testosterone. Chronic inflammation, low libido, rheumatoid arthritis and cognitive decline are all associated with low DHEA.

If you have low DHEA, than it’s very likely that your estrogen and testosterone could be low. Insufficient DHEA is often a result of chronic stress and overproduction of cortisol.

Most people supplement with DHEA through an oral tablet or a cream, but with those methods, you don’t know how much you actually absorb. The most effective way to take DHEA--in my opinion--is sublingual drops. You drop them underneath your tongue, and it’s absorbed as effectively and quickly as an injection.

In this video, I explain why DHEA is important to hormone production, the optimal ranges for DHEA and the different types of DHEA supplementation.
